Work will begin next month on a major refurbishment of Danske Bank’s branch in Bloomfield Shopping Centre.

To facilitate the building work, the branch will close at 4.30pm on Saturday 9 February and the branch team will move to Bangor branch. The newly refurbished Bloomfield branch will re-open on Monday 8 April.

Aisling Press, Head of Branch Banking at Danske Bank said: “Branches are an important part of our customer offering, which is why over the last two years we have been investing in the upgrade of a number of our branches across Northern Ireland.

“The customer feedback from these refurbishments has been really positive. Every branch is different, so each time we take the best of the previous refurbishments but make adjustments to suit that particular branch and its customers’ needs. And we’re really excited about our plans for Bloomfield.”

The manager of Danske Bank’s Bloomfield branch, Nick Craig, added:

“Customers can expect a modern and welcoming look and feel, but also some service enhancements. Our new automated banking area will be open for the same hours as the shopping centre and will have additional functionality, which means customers will be able to do more banking themselves at a time that suits them.

“We know the human touch makes a real difference to the overall customer experience, and my team and I look forward to welcoming and assisting customers in our new branch.

“We understand that the temporary closure of the branch may be inconvenient for some customers, but by doing so we will be able to reopen our transformed branch much sooner. There are a number of alternatives in place for customers during the renovations and we are opening our Bangor Main Street branch on Saturdays during this period. However, I would encourage customers with any concerns to come and speak to me or to my team at any time.”

The nearest branches of Danske Bank are in Bangor and Newtownards but customers can use any branch of Danske Bank for any of their needs. Customers who have a debit card can also use their local Post Office® to lodge money, withdraw cash and check balances.

A Danske Bank cash machine will be available in the centre during the refurbishment, as well as the external cash machine (to the car park) which dispenses both sterling and euro notes.
