Bangor Barracudas make a splash with grant from Danske Bank

Local water polo club Bangor Barracudas was one of 18 local organisations to benefit from nearly £10,000 of funding from Danske Bank in recent months.

Bangor Barracudas is a growing club that supports children and young people from all communities and abilities take part in the team sport. The club received £500 through the Danske Volunteer Grants programme which provides grants to local organisations with which Danske employees are involved outside of work.

Tanya Strong-Turney, a Personal Assistant in Danske Bank, volunteers with Bangor Barracudas and nominated the club: “We’re a growing club and have recently added two new Under 17 teams. This additional funding from Danske Bank means so much to the club and has allowed us to replace some of the equipment that we have been using for years.”

Rachel Cleary, External Communications Officer at Danske Bank said: “We recognise the value of volunteering and appreciate that many of our employees share their time, skills and expertise outside of work in our local communities. Through the Danske Volunteer Grants programme we can support colleagues like Tanya, who are making a real difference in their local community.”
