Three quick tips to keep yourself protected

eBanking security

  • Keep your details to yourself

Of course, we may occasionally call you, but we’ll never ask you to do any of the following:

    • Share your personal banking information such as passcodes for eBanking or Mobile Banking, or approve payment or log on requests on Danske ID.
    • We may be in touch by phone sometimes, but we’ll never ask you for info such as your password, PIN, or codes sent by text message.
    • We’ll NEVER as you to install apps on your computer or phone to allow as for remote access to it.
    • We’ll NEVER ask you to move money to a ‘safe account’.
  • Be vigilant

Always use eBanking in a place you trust. If possible avoid using publicly available computers and open Wi-Fi networks.

Be careful when you use a Wi-Fi network, as others could tap into your computer. Remember to activate the encryption key before using the Wi-Fi network.

Look for the locked padlock or unbroken key symbol in the browser when using our website, always log off after you have completed your eBanking session, and immediately report unusual activity (such as unexpected error messages, lengthy log-in time, or suspicious payments).

  • Make sure you're on the real eBanking

Don't use links from emails, text messages or another site - they could take you to a fake website that looks like ours, especially those expressing an urgent need for you to update your information, activate an account, or verify your identity. We will never send you an email containing a link to eBanking.

Always access eBanking by either manually typing danskebank.co.uk or accessing the site from your favourites. When you try to access eBanking you’ll see that 'https://'will appear before the address.

Card Fraud

Your card can be stolen/compromised through fake websites, data leaks, and theft. However, quite often the trouble starts when someone gives over their details to the wrong person.

Stay alert: Scammers can seem genuine, pretending to be real shops or officials. They can trick you into giving up passwords, One-Time Passcodes (OTPs) and even your PINs, and before you know it, they’re shopping with your money.

Always double-check who you're talking to before sharing any details. Contact us immediately if something feels off or you spot any suspicious transactions.

If you have access to our online banking or Mobile Bank app you can temporarily block your card to stop transactions if you notice anything suspicious.

Take five stop fraud logo

Criminals are experts at impersonating people, organisations and the police. They spend hours researching you for their scams, hoping you’ll let your guard down for just a moment.

Stop: Taking a moment to stop and think before parting with your money or information could keep you safe.

Challenge: Could it be fake? It’s ok to reject, refuse or ignore any requests. Only criminals will try to rush or panic you.

Protect: Contact your bank immediately if you think you’ve fallen for a scam and report it to Action Fraud.

My money, my info, I don’t think so!
