While Danske’s branch on Market Street has had to close because of the flooding, Managing Director of Personal Banking, Aisling Press, says they are actively looking for alternative premises so they can continue to support the town with a physical presence in the short-term.

Aisling said:

“We have been on the ground over the last few days speaking to local people and traders, and we are deeply saddened by the situation facing the town.

“While we don’t yet know how long it will be before we can re-open our branch, we are working hard in the background to find temporary premises from which we can serve the local community in the interim. We’re currently looking at options and will share more information when we can.

“In the meantime, customers can use local Post Offices for everyday banking needs or any of our other branches across Northern Ireland. Our colleagues from Downpatrick branch have been redeployed to Saintfield, Lisburn and Banbridge branches to provide extra support, and we’ve extended our opening hours at these locations.

“We have also set up a dedicated line into our local contact centre for customers directly impacted by the floods - 02890 049260.

“We would welcome hearing from any customers concerned about the impact of the floods on their home or business. We have a range of supporting measures in place and we’re here to help.”
