Banking Hubs and Access to Cash
Learn about how you can use Banking Hubs for everyday banking needs and our commitment to ensuring you can access the cash you need.
What is a Banking Hub?
We have worked with Cash Access UK and other UK Banks to open Banking Hubs in Northern Ireland.
Every Hub has a counter service operated by the Post Office where you can:
- Pay cash in or take cash out – including coins*
- Pay in cheques*
- Pay bills
- Check your balance
- Additionally, Business customers can avail of our Change Giving Lite service
Community Banker service - staff will be available on specific days to provide in-person assistance to both help their personal and business customers. The Banking Hub will be open Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm.
The counter service is accessible to customers of all participating banks Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm and is not restricted to the bank's specific Community Banker day.
*Cash withdrawal and deposit limits apply. See our Post Office pages for full details. Cheque lodgements won’t be processed by the Post Office® but will be sent overnight to us for processing on the next business day. The normal cheque clearing cycle begins when we process the lodgement.
What can a Community Banker help you with?
We have committed to having a member of staff available face to face one day a week who can help with a range of queries and questions relating to:
- Account and Card Management
- Digital Banking
- Fraud and Scam Advice
- Life Events Support e.g. Bereavement and Powers of Attorney
- Support with Payments and Transfers

Access to Cash
We are committed to ensuring access to cash in Northern Ireland.
Not sure where to withdraw or deposit your cash?
You can find out about your options on LINK's Cash Locator .
Concerned about access to cash in your area?
A cash access assessment is a process to make sure communities have the right services to access cash locally.
We, alongside a range of other UK banks, work with LINK to complete cash access assessments on our behalf.
Access to Cash Assessments
LINK will carry out assessments when one of the following things happen*:
- Where a cash service closes or changes significantly. For example the closure of a bank branch, or a reduction in the number of counters in a branch.
- When someone gets in touch with LINK to make a request.
- When someone asks LINK to review their original decision within 28 days of LINK publishing that decision.
LINK may have already looked at your area and made a recommendation to make things better - LINK Assessments .
If not, you can request an access to cash assessment in your area .
Want to know how decisions are made about cash?
You can find out the process LINK goes through when assessing cash access needs .
*LINK does not need to conduct a Cash Access Review in the following circumstances:
- Where there are multiple ATMs on the same site and one is removed.
- the decision to close a cash service is reversed.
- LINK has already conducted a Cash Access Review of the same location within the previous year.
- where the person requesting a Cash Access Review does not have sufficient interest in cash access provision in the area; or
- where the person requesting a Cash Access Review withdraws their request.
