If you have received a temporary PIN you can log on and create a password to use with the one-time passcodes we text you.

To set up your password:

• Go to the Card Management Portal
• Select ‘log on with Temporary PIN/ Password’
• Enter your customer number (you can find this on our Mobile Bank app or by contacting us)
• Enter the temporary PIN (a 6 digit code sent to your mobile phone via SMS) and click ‘continue’
• Enter the one-time passcode sent to you by text message
• Enter the password you want to use from now on to authorise online purchases and repeat to confirm your password
• Click 'Continue' and your password is created. This will now be your personal password which you will use to approve online purchases along with the one-time passcode which we will text to you.

If you have an eSafeID you can log on to the Card Management Portal to create a password using the same user id and passcode you use to log on to eBanking.

To set up your password:

• Go to the Card Management Portal
• Select ‘Log on with eSafeID’
• Enter your user id and passcode which you use to log on to eBanking
• Enter the six-digit one-time password displayed on your eSafeID device and click ‘continue’
• Enter the password you want to use from now on to authorise online purchases and repeat to confirm
• Click 'Continue' and your password is created. This will now be your personal password which you will use to approve online purchases along with the one-time passcode which we will text you

If you cannot remember your user id or passcode, contact our Customer Support team on 028 9004 6622*.

If you have forgotten your passcode, we’ll issue you with a temporary passcode which you’ll need in order to set up a new passcode on eBanking. Learn more about setting a new passcode.

Your password must contain:

1. 8 – 40 characters
2. A mixture of both uppercase and lowercase letters
3. A mixture of letters and numbers

The following special characters cannot be used: > <

It is important to make your password strong and hard to guess therefore we would recommend not using any sequential numbers i.e. 1234, characters i.e. abc or spaces.

You can change your password at any time.

To change your password if you initially created your password using a temporary PIN:

1. Visit the Card Management Portal
2. Enter your customer number (you can find this on our Mobile Bank app or by contacting us) and your existing password and click ‘Continue’.
3. Enter the one-time passcode sent to the mobile number we have registered to you and click ‘Continue’.
4. Create your new password and repeat the new password.
5. Click ‘Continue’ to save your new password.

To change your password if you initially created your password using an eSafeID device:

• Go to the Card Management Portal Card Management Portal
• Select ‘Log on with eSafeID’
• Enter your user id and passcode which you use to log on to eBanking
• Enter the six-digit one-time password displayed on your eSafeID device and click ‘continue’
• Create your new password and repeat the new password.
• Click 'Continue' and your password is updated.

If you created your password initially using the temporary PIN:

If you forget your password you will have 5 attempts to enter your password correctly on the merchant site before it is blocked and will need to be reset. Remember that your password will be a mixture of letters and numbers, set by you.

If you believe you may remember your password, you can check by attempting to log into our Card Management Portal - To do so you will need your customer number to log in.

If you cannot remember your customer number or your password after 5 attempts, you can contact us on our dedicated Strong Customer Authentication Line 028 9004 6622*. Where an advisor will be able to assist you

If you created your password initially using an eSafeID device:

If you forget your password, and created it initially using an eSafeID device, you can log on to the Card Management Portal using the steps set out in the ‘How do I log on with an eSafeID and register a password?’ FAQ.

After you enter your card details you will be asked to provide your password. Click ‘Continue’, you’ll then be asked to provide your one-time passcode which will have been sent by text message.

You will have 5 attempts at entering your password correctly before its blocked and you will need to reset it. If that happens, please contact our Customer Support Team on 028 9004 6622*.

If you haven't received a letter with a temporary PIN or you've lost your temporary PIN you can request a replacement by contacting us on 028 9004 6622*.

An advisor will then sent a temporary PIN via SMS to the mobile number which we hold for you. Your temporary PIN will be valid for 15 mins allowing you to set your password.

Your one-time passcode will remain valid for 3 minutes from the time you make your purchase on the merchant site.

If the passcode doesn’t arrive within four minutes, check the last four digits of the mobile phone number, shown on payment approval screen of the retailer’s site, are correct. (See visual below).

If the mobile number is correct: Click ‘Send message again’ on screen to generate a new one-time passcode. You will be able to click ‘Send message again’ three times. After the third attempt the link will no longer work and you will have to return to the merchant site or call us on 028 9004 6622*.

If the mobile number is incorrect: Follow the steps in the accordion below ‘What if I have changed my mobile number since my last purchase?’

If you have changed your mobile phone number since your last transaction, check the last four digits that appear on the payment approval screen of the retailer’s site (see visual below) and if the digits do not match, you can log on to eBanking or the Mobile Bank app to update your contact details or contact us.

Once you have updated your mobile number, it may take 5 - 10 minutes to update on the payment approval screen. This may result in your transaction being timed out and you may be returned to the retailer’s website to start the payment approval process again.

The One-Time passcode needs to be sent by text, the alternative solution is to use the Danske ID option.

Yes, you will still need to enter a one-time passcode and password to complete payments in-app.

The below may prove useful if you are having difficulty navigating between screens however please be aware that some devices may function differently.

Android

1. Open your Text Message App before you begin the process of making the payment and select the Danske Bank message thread
2. Go to the App you are purchasing from & proceed to make your purchase
3. Open multiple windows by using the square icon at the bottom of your screen
4. This function will allow you to view your 6 digit passcode along with the verification screen.

IOS/Apple

1. Open your Text Message App before you begin the process of making the payment and select the Danske Bank message thread
2. Go to the App you are purchasing from & proceed to make the purchase
3. Open multiple windows by double clicking your phone's home button at the bottom of your screen
4. This function will allow you to view your 6 digit passcode along with the verification screen.

You can contact your network provider or phone manufacturer if you require additional information about the functionality of your phone.

If you don’t have a mobile or prefer not to use this method, you can use the Danske ID option through ebanking or a tablet.

When first registering your password, you’ll be shown the screen stating that a 6 digit one-time passcode will be sent to your mobile number (see image below). If you do not recognise the last 4 digits of the mobile number shown as a current or previous mobile number, you can log on to eBanking or the Mobile Bank app to update your contact details .

If you have entered your customer number and temporary PIN correctly when accessing the card management portal and are unable to continue in order to set up your password, please contact us on 028 9004 6622*.

If you enter your password incorrectly an error message will show on the merchant site and you will be unable to finalise your purchase until your details have been entered correctly.
