The branches will move to new premises, all of which are near their current high street locations, by early next year. Construction and fit out work is already underway in some locations. In the meantime, the existing branches remain open for customers as usual.

Aisling Press, Managing Director of Personal Banking at Danske Bank, said:

“While many customers now prefer to bank online, branches remain an important part of how we serve our customers. Over the past eight years, we’ve invested around £8 million in upgrading key branches to better meet changing customer needs. It’s about providing customers with choice and ensuring they receive the best possible service however they choose to do their banking.

“With leases in Coleraine and Lisburn coming to an end, and with our Ballymoney building requiring significant refurbishment, the relocations give us the opportunity to create modern spaces that meet both current and future requirements. Customers will continue to find the same friendly teams they know, but in updated surroundings.

“This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to the communities we serve, delivering a fresh branch experience, enhanced services and improved facilities for customers and colleagues alike.”

Glyn Roberts, Chief Executive of Retail NI welcomed the development, saying:

“Like much of the retail landscape, banking has changed, with many consumers and businesses preferring the convenience of digital banking. However, it is also clear that many of our members and their customers still value having the option of local branch banking. We very much welcome the news that Danske Bank are investing and remains committed to a branch presence in Coleraine, Lisburn and Ballymoney.”

The work will be carried out on a phased basis. Ballymoney branch will relocate to 12 High Street in November 2025. In early 2026, Coleraine branch will move to 33, The Diamond in early 2026 and Lisburn branch will relocate to Units 16-18 Bow Street.

Customers do not need to take any action. Further details will be shared closer to the time of the moves.
