Building financial confidence in the next generation

We believe that if children and young people are encouraged and supported to learn about money and personal finance from an early age, it will help them make better choices in life.

Engaging children and youth in conversations about money is more important than ever.

Moneyville

Moneyville is a game for 5 to 9 year olds. It’s based on a virtual world and aims to teach children the value of money through fun, interactive games.

SMART

SMART is our flagship educational outreach programme for Primary and Post-Primary school children. It is delivered in the classroom by Danske Bank employees and aims to support children and young people in becoming financially confident.

SMART is for 13- 17 year-olds. The programme includes cross-curricular modules that are designed to be interactive and engaging. The modules cover the importance of budgeting and saving, how credit and debit cards work, the difference between buying and renting property and business and entrepreneurship.

SMART Junior introduces the topic of money to Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils. Through interactive presentations and associated activities, children can learn about what money is, where it comes from, how they can earn it, how to prioritise spending and the importance of saving.

To help parents with home schooling during the coronavirus pandemic, SMART Junior educational resources are now available to download for free. For P4/P5 and P6/P7 please use the corresponding workbook.
