Eligibility Criteria

To open a Danske Community Account, one of your officers must already be an existing Danske Bank personal or business customer. You must be an unincorporated club, society, or association operating primarily for a community benefit purpose such as:

  1. the prevention or relief of poverty;
  2. the advancement of education*;
  3. the advancement of religion;
  4. the advancement of health or the saving of lives;
  5. the advancement of citizenship or community development;
  6. the advancement of the arts, culture, heritage or science;
  7. the advancement of amateur sport;
  8. the advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation or the promotion of religious or racial harmony or equality and diversity;
  1. the advancement of environmental protection or improvement;
  2. the relief of those in need because of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage;
  3. the advancement of animal welfare;
  4. the promotion of the efficiency the police, fire and rescue services, ambulance services or the armed forces; or
  5. any other purposes that the Bank may regard as analogous to, or within the spirit of, any purposes listed above.

* This is not intended to apply to schools, rather education related matters of public interest e.g. life-skill training, green issues etc.

Whether applying online, over the phone or in branch, we've made it easy to open an account with us. The Current Account Switch Service makes switching to us stress free too.

  1. Day 1
    The Current Account Switch Service will check if the switch can go ahead.
  2. Day 3–5
    Your regular payments will be moved across to your new Danske Bank Business Current Account.
  3. Day 7
    Your balance will be moved to your new Danske Bank Business Current Account, and your old business current account will be closed. We’ll let you know that the switch is complete.

If we are not able to complete the switch on your chosen date, we will contact you to agree a new one.
