Proof of Identity
When you submit your application, we will send you an email asking you to verify your ID with a smartphone or tablet device with a camera. You will also need one of the following;
- A driving licence (UK only)
- Passport (UK or Irish)
If we cannot verify your identity electronically, or this option doesn’t suit you, we will ask you to visit your local branch with a proof of identity document. A full list of accepted proofs can be found here.
Proof of Address
When you submit your application, we will attempt to verify your address using Electronic Identity Verification. In rare instances where this is not possible, we will ask you to visit your local branch with one of the following proof of address documents:
- Utility bill, dated within the last 6 months
- Bank, building society or credit union statement bill, dated within the last 6 months
- A full list of accepted proofs can be found here.
Please note, different documents are required for proof of identity and address, the same document cannot be used twice.
Business Details
If you trade from a business premises (not from home), we will ask you to upload proof of your trading address at the end of the application. We require one proof in the form of PDF, screenshot, or an image captured with a mobile phone or tablet device.
Proof of Trading Address
- Web search on yell.com, 118118.com, 192.com or google.com
- Utility bill for the business premises in the name of your organisation, dated within the last 6 months
- Business bank account statements, dated within the last 6 months
- Business rates bill/council tax bill in the name of your organisation for the current year
- VAT registration form
- Property lease document
- Business insurance documentation from a registered insurance provider, valid for the current year
Alternatively, if you cannot provide any of the above documents, we will accept a written confirmation from your accountant or solicitor. Please be aware that they may charge a fee for this service.
Supporting Information
To prepare for completing your application, you may also want to have the following information to hand:
- Expected annual turnover
- Total number and value of cash deposits and withdrawals
- Information regarding foreign payments, including number, value and country of origin
