  • You’re a new Danske Bank business customer
  • Your Business is a Limited Company
  • Your Company is not owned by another entity or company
  • Your Company is registered at Companies House and have a registered address in Northern Ireland
  • You are a Director of the Company you want a bank account for
  • All Directors are over 18 years old
  • You agree to be registered for District as part of the application

    Companies House The executive agency of the British Government that maintains the register of companies and limited liability partnerships and is responsible for incorporating all forms of companies in the United Kingdom. Most information contained in the registers of companies and limited liability partnerships maintained by Companies House is publicly available.
    Digital signing Allows business customers to access digital versions of documents, review and digitally sign. This is accessible via desktop and mobile.
    Director Someone elected or appointed to manage a company's business and affairs
    Key people Includes Directors, Owners/Shareholders, Secretaries.
    Memorandum and Articles of Association A legal statement signed by all initial shareholders or guarantors agreeing to form the company.
    Quorate Having the necessary number of people present for decisions to be allowed to be made
    Suppliers Any person or entity that supplies goods or services to your company.
    Turnover The amount a company receives from selling goods or services over a certain period
    Trading Name The name your company is commonly known as or the name you use when advertising or doing business.
    Trading Address Where your customers, or suppliers send you correspondence. This can be different to the company’s registered address.

  • You can apply for a Danske Small Business, Danske Small Business Digital, or a Danske Large Business current account.

  • Opening a business current account is an important step for any business. To help you prepare, there is a guide available through Uk Finance External link icon.

  • A Board meeting of the Directors of the Company should be held to approve the submission of an application to the bank to open a Bank account. The Board meeting must have been quorate i.e., the minimum number of directors required for the company to make decisions must have been present. The quorum will be set out in your company’s Articles of Association.

  • If a transaction is not carried out within 60 days from the date the account is opened, then the limited company’s agreement with us will end and the account will be closed.

  • As part of your application, you will be registered for District. District is our online financial platform for, and developed with, our Danske Bank business customers. You’ll have a single point of entry to your accounts, payments, and liquidity, helping you make insightful decisions for your business.

    You can also use two-jointly authorisation of payments, which means that two users must authorise payments independently of each other. This makes it more difficult for fraudsters to make payments from your business’s accounts.

  • A business account offers several advantages to support your needs.

    • It can help you keep track of your business transactions.
    • Allows you to keep your business account records organised.
    • You can make and manage salary and supplier payments.
    • Access to District which gives you a full overview of your business’s finances, no matter how complex they are.

  • Your company registration number (CRN) can be found on your certificate of incorporation, any official documentation received from Companies House or by searching on the Companies House website.

  • You do not need to open a business current account if you are considering applying for a loan with Danske Bank. Depending on your requirements you will have the option of opening a business current account or a Servicing Account.

  • No, this application is solely for the purpose of opening a business current account.

Troubleshooting FAQs

  • Wait 30 minutes then try again - we’ll then send you a new 6-digit code.

  • As soon as you hit the ‘Request code’ button it’s disabled for 10 minutes. Wait until that time has passed and try again.

  • The code is valid for 10 minutes from the time the SMS is sent.
