Simon Whittaker

Director, Vertical Structure

Simon is Vertical Structure’s Cyber Security Director. The firm are an established Belfast based cyber security and information assurance organisation with services including security consulting, security testing & training to clients from small start-ups to large multi-national organisations.

The majority of Simon's work involves working with companies to perform penetration and security testing, improving secure coding practices and to provide knowledgeable and efficient security consultancy to companies that are keen to drive growth and improve their processes and procedures through the principles of Prepare, Protect & Persist®.

In 2018, Simon took part in the “Strengthening Cyber Security” exchange program funded by the US Department of State and run by Boston College. This highly selective program consisted of a group of 25 relevant policy makers, legal experts, academics, developers and others involved with cyber security in government institutions, private sector and law enforcement from Ireland and Northern Ireland who had the opportunity to engage with Boston College and their American counterparts during an 11-day program.

Vertical Structure were a founding member of the NICyber group, an industry body promoting international business, innovation and collaboration opportunities consisting of companies developing world-leading cybersecurity technologies and services from Northern Ireland.
