Affordability checker

Our Mortgage Affordability Calculator will give you a broad indication on whether the application with us should proceed. It is designed for guidance purposes only.

Complete all the input fields:

  • Customer Information
  • Loan Details
  • Income
  • Existing Debt (if applicable)

Important

  • The Loan Amount field should include any product fees when an applicant chooses to add them to the loan
  • Remember to check inputs against payslips and Bank statements

The calculator will automatically produce 'Proceed' or 'Do Not Proceed' result based on our minimum criteria.

When proceeding to application you should print a copy of the Mortgage Affordability Calculator result and post this to us with our other required documentation.

Whether we grant an applicant any of our credit facilities will depend on their age and circumstances.

Valuation tool

For remortgages (switchers), to give an indication of approximate property value in the absence of local house price knowledge, you may use our Property Valuation Tool. However, a Professional Valuation will be required and the value from this will be used for pricing and collateral purposes.

For existing customers who want to repackage with us, the internal estimated property value we hold for the property will be used. Please contact us us to obtain this.

To use our Property Valuation Tool follow the steps below:

Obtain the capital valuation (for rating purposes) of the property.

This can be obtained by entering the property details into a database on the Land and Property Services website External link icon.

For convenience we have included a link to this website in our Property Valuation Tool.

Enter the first 3 or 4 characters of the postcode into the calculator.

Enter the LPS valuation to get an estimate of today’s value.

Important Information

When a customer takes out a mortgage they are borrowing against the value of their home. When they come to sell their home they will need to use the sale's proceeds to repay their outstanding mortgage balance. Be aware that if the value of their home falls below the balance of their mortgage, then they will have to pay us the difference if they want to sell their home.
